Description AMD E2-3000 1.65-GHz (1-MB L2 cache, 1333MHz DDR3L dual core, 15 W) for use with Windows 8.1 Standard AMD E1-2100 (1.0 GHz, 1 MB L2 cache, 1333MHz DDR3L dual core, 9W) for use in models without Windows 8.1 AMD E1-2100 (1.0 GHz, 1 MB L2 cache, 1333MHz DDR3L dual core, 9W) for use with Windows 8.1 Standard Spare part number 781937-501 781918-001 781918-501 Before removing the system board, follow these steps: 1. Turn off the computer. If you are unsure whether the computer is off or in Hibernation, turn the computer on, and then shut it down through the operating system. 2. Disconnect the power from the computer by unplugging the power cord from the computer. 3. Disconnect all external devices from the computer. 4. Remove the battery (see Battery on page 29), and then remove the following components: a. Optical drive (see Optical drive on page 34). b. Service door (see Service door on page 30). c. WLAN module (see WLAN module on page 32). d. Memory module (see Memory module on page 31). e. Keyboard (see Keyboard on page 36). f. Top cover (see Top cover on page 42). g. Hard drive (see Hard drive on page 46). When replacing the system board, be sure that the following components are removed from the defective system board and installed on the replacement system board: ● Hard drive cable ● Power connector cable ● RTC battery (see RTC battery on page 61) ● Fan (see Heat sink assembly on page 65) ● Heat sink assembly (see Heat sink assembly on page 65) Remove the system board: 1. Disconnect the following cables from the system board: (1) Display panel cable (2) Speaker cable (3) Optical drive connector cable (4) USB/audio board cable Component replacement procedures 57
