Top cover Description Top cover for use only in model 2133 Top cover for use only in model 2140 Spare part number 482265-001 511749-001 Before removing the top cover, follow these steps: 1. Shut down the computer. If you are unsure whether the computer is off or in Hibernation, turn the computer on, and then shut it down through the operating system. 2. Disconnect all external devices connected to the computer. 3. Disconnect the power from the computer by first unplugging the power cord from the AC outlet and then unplugging the AC adapter from the computer. 4. Remove the battery (see Battery on page 44). 5. Remove the keyboard (see Keyboard on page 45). 6. Remove the hard drive or solid-state drive (see Mass storage device on page 49). Remove the top cover: 1. Turn the computer upside down, with the front toward you. 2. Use a thin, flat tool to release the four rubber feet (1). CAUTION: On model 2133, the rubber feet are attached to the base enclosure by tethers. Exercise caution when releasing the rubber feet to prevent damaging the feet. 3. On model 2133, remove the three Torx8 T8M2.5×10.0 screws (2) and the Torx8 T8M2.0×4.0 screw (3) that secure the top cover to the base enclosure. On model 2140, remove the three Phillips PM2.0×7.0 screws (2) and the Phillips PM3.0×3.0 screw (3) that secure the top cover to the base enclosure. NOTE: Model 2140 is illustrated. Before removing the top cover, follow these steps:
1.

Remove the top cover:
1.
Turn the computer upside down, with the front toward you.
2.
Use a thin, flat tool to release the four rubber feet

CAUTION:
On model 2133, the rubber feet are attached to the base enclosure by tethers.
Exercise caution when releasing the rubber feet to prevent damaging the feet.
3.
On model 2133, remove the three Torx8 T8M2.5×10.0 screws

and the Torx8 T8M2.0×4.0
screw
(3)
that secure the top cover to the base enclosure.
On model 2140, remove the three Phillips PM2.0×7.0 screws
(2)
and the Phillips PM3.0×3.0
screw
(3)
that secure the top cover to the base enclosure.
NOTE:
