Purpose and scope ● Linux ● UNIX® Microsoft Windows NOTE For information about the HP Color LaserJet 2700 printing-system software for Macintosh operating systems, see Macintosh. The HP Color LaserJet 2700 printing-system software requires some basic operating system and processor functions. ● Operating system requirements include one of the following: Microsoft Windows 2000, Microsoft Windows XP (32-bit Home and Professional editions), or Microsoft Windows Server 2003 ● Microsoft Windows 2000 or Microsoft Windows XP (32-bit Home and Professional editions) is needed for a full installation of the printing-system software. A full installation includes HP ToolboxFX. ● Microsoft Windows Server 2003 automatically performs a minimum installation of the printingsystem software. ● Processor and random-access memory (RAM) requirements: ● For Microsoft Windows 2000, Microsoft Windows XP Professional (32-bit) Microsoft Windows XP Home (32-bit), Microsoft: XP Media Center, and Microsoft Windows Server 2003, a Pentium® II processor or greater (Pentium III or greater recommended) and 192 MB of RAM (for a full installation) ● Other requirements: ● 150 MB of available hard-disk space. ● A 2x or faster CD-ROM drive (required for installation) ● A USB port for the HP Color LaserJet 2700 printer (the HP Color LaserJet 2700n printer does not require the USB connection). If the USB port has another device attached to it, such as an external storage device, the device must be disconnected or an additional USB port must be added. Add an additional USB port by using a hub or by installing an additional USB card. Linux It is possible to print to the HP LaserJet product from any operating system that complies with the PCL command language, such as OS/2, UNIX, or Linux systems. Linux users should check for the availability of drivers at the following Web site: www.hp.com/go/linuxprinting NOTE The Linux drivers are supported through the Linux community. UNIX® UNIX systems require the HP LaserJet III model script, or any generic HP LaserJet printer Model Script, to establish the right environment for printing. The HP Color LaserJet 2700 printing-system software requires some basic operating system and
processor functions.
