P2000 G3 SAS MSA with cascaded drive enclosures This example expands on the cabling paths illustrated in "P2000 G3 SAS MSA dual-controller, dual-domain, optimal cabling" (page 83) and shows connection paths from a dual-controller P2000 G3 SAS MSA controller enclosure to cascaded, dual I/O module P2000 drive enclosures. NOTE: Restrictions exist, depending on the controller, storage enclosure, and drive model. For more information, see "External SAS device, controller, drive, and cabling support matrices" (page 77) Devices and quantities P2000 G3 SAS MSA controller enclosures: 1 P2000 drive enclosures: 4 BladeSystem c7000 enclosures: 1 6G SAS BL Switches: 2 Server blade types: half-height and full-height Connection details • Switch in interconnect bay 5: ◦ Port 1: to MSA SAS port A1 ◦ Port 2: to MSA SAS port B1 • Switch in interconnect bay 6: ◦ Port 1: to MSA SAS port B2 ◦ Port 2: to MSA SAS port A2 Notes • This illustration demonstrates cascading Large Form Factor P2000 drive enclosures. • P2000 and D2700 drive enclosures can be cascaded from the same P2000 G3 SAS MSA controller enclosure. • Up to seven drive enclosures can be cascaded behind a P2000 G3 SAS MSA controller enclosure, as long as the total number of drives in the array system does not exceed 149. 84 Deployment examples
