Disregard steps 2 through 8 if your unit will not turn on and the carriage is in the home position. You will not be able to remove the ink cartridges or printheads. Proceed to step 9. 3 Open the access door. The carriage will move to the center of the printer. 4 Remove the ink cartridges. a. Press the release button on the black ink cartridge, and lift the ink cartridge out of the carriage. b. Press the release button on the tri-color ink cartridge, and lift the ink cartridge out of the carriage. Caution! Be sure to remove both ink cartridges.
