Top cover Description In midnight black finish In natural silver finisih Spare part number 708009-001 708012-001 Before removing the top cover, follow these steps: 1. Turn off the computer. If you are unsure whether the computer is off or in Hibernation, turn the computer on, and then shut it down through the operating system. 2. Disconnect the power from the computer by unplugging the power cord from the computer. 3. Disconnect all external devices from the computer. 4. Remove the battery (see Battery on page 47), and then remove the following components: a. Hard drive (see Hard drive on page 48) b. Optical drive (see Optical drive on page 53) c. Keyboard (see Keyboard on page 59) NOTE: When replacing the top cover, be sure to remove the following components from the defective top cover and install them on the replacement top cover: ● Front speakers (see Front speakers on page 67) ● Power button board and cable (see Power button board on page 68) ● Fingerprint reader board (see Fingerprint reader board on page 69) ● TouchPad button board (see TouchPad button board on page 70) Component replacement procedures 63

Before removing the top cover, follow these steps:
