Card Reader board Description Card Reader board (includes cable) Spare part number 681988-001 Before removing the Card Reader board, follow these steps: 1. Turn off the computer. If you are unsure whether the computer is off or in Hibernation, turn the computer on, and then shut it down through the operating system. 2. Disconnect the power from the computer by unplugging the power cord from the computer. 3. Disconnect all external devices from the computer. 4. Remove the battery (see Battery on page 47), and then remove the following components: a. Hard drive (see Hard drive on page 48) b. Optical drive (see Optical drive on page 53) c. Keyboard (see Keyboard on page 59) d. Top cover (see Top cover on page 63) e. System board (see System board on page 77) Remove the Card Reader board: 1. Remove the Phillips PM2.0×3.0 screw (1) that secures the Card Reader board to the system board. 2. Remove the Card Reader board (2). Before removing the Card Reader board, follow these steps:
1.
Turn off the computer. If you are unsure whether the computer is off or in Hibernation, turn

Remove the Card Reader board:
1.
Remove the Phillips PM2.0×3.0 screw
(1)
that secures the Card Reader board to
the system board.
2.
Remove the Card Reader board
(2)

Reverse this procedure to install the Card Reader board.
