Before Installing a SCSI Device HP Kayak XU PC Workstation - Installing Accessories In Your HP PC Workstation Installing Mass Storage Devices If you are installing a SCSI device, refer to the section "Before Installing a SCSI Hard Disk" on page 9 before using the following instructions. 1 Disconnect the computer's power cord and any LAN or telecommunications cable. 2 Remove the computer's cover (see page 3). 3 If installing a drive in a 5.25-inch shelf, remove the drive tray and put it in a safe place. Remove the drive tray if installing a 5.25-inch drive Mounting Rails Secure the drive in position Slide the drive into position 4 If necessary, mount the drive onto the drive rails provided. 5 Slide the drive into the shelf. 6 Secure the drive in position using the screws provided with the drive. 7 Locate the appropriate data cable for the device (refer to page 8). To improve access, you may need to disconnect any devices already connected to the SCSI cable and allow the cable to hang outside the of the PC Workstation's case. English 15

Installing Mass Storage Devices
Before Installing a
SCSI Device
If you are installing a SCSI device, refer to the section “Before Installing
a SCSI Hard Disk” on page 9 before using the following instructions.

Disconnect the computer’s power cord and any LAN or
telecommunications cable.

Remove the computer’s cover (see page 3).

If installing a drive in a 5.25-inch shelf, remove the drive tray and put
it in a safe place.

If necessary, mount the drive onto the drive rails provided.

Slide the drive into the shelf.

Secure the drive in position using the screws provided with the
drive.

Locate the appropriate data cable for the device (refer to page 8).
To improve access, you may need to disconnect any devices already
