1 Installing Your Multimedia Sound Kit Installing the Accessory Software under Windows 3.11 Installing the Sound Board Drivers The following procedure installs the sound board drivers and also the audio programs. For more information on these programs and on this installation procedure, refer to the on-screen user's guide-page 20 tells you how to read the guide. 1 With Windows running, insert the HP Multimedia Sound CD in the CD-ROM drive. (Insert the CD label side up; press the open/close pushbutton to open and close the drawer.) 2 From the Program Manager, click on the File menu and click Run... In the command line, type d:\win311\setup follow the instructions that appear on the screen. and then (The CD-ROM drive may be your E drive. In this case you would enter e:\win311\setup . You can check by clicking the Browse button in the Run dialog box, and then clicking on the Drives drop-down list. During the installation you are asked to select either a "Full" installation or a "Custom" installation. If you choose "Full", the system files, DOS drivers, Windows drivers, and utilities are all installed. If you choose "Custom", you have the opportunity to install or to not install the DOS drivers, Windows drivers, and utilities. The system files are always installed. If you see the message "Configuration Manager not found", exit the installation program as instructed. Install the ISA Configuration Utility (ICU) and then run this audio software installation program again. The ICU is required to configure the sound board settings. (If you experience a problem with the ICU when trying to change the sound board settings, it could be due to the version of your BIOS. Call HP Support for assistance-the most recent version of the BIOS is available on the HP BBS.) English 11

Installing the Accessory Software under Windows 3.11
Installing the Sound Board Drivers
The following procedure installs the sound board drivers and also the
audio programs. For more information on these programs and on this
installation procedure, refer to the on-screen user’s guide—page 20
tells you how to read the guide.

With Windows running, insert the
HP Multimedia Sound
CD in the
CD-ROM drive. (Insert the CD label side up; press the open/close
pushbutton to open and close the drawer.)

From the Program Manager, click on the File menu and click Run...
In the command line, type
d:\win311\setup
and then
follow the instructions that appear on the screen.
(The CD-ROM drive may be your E drive. In this case you would
enter
e:\win311\setup
. You can check by clicking the

Drives drop-down list.
