Part 2: Setting Up the HP Storage System/6 In this section, you prepare the HP Storage System/6 for cluster operations by: • Configuring the internal cabling on the HP Storage System/6 • Assigning SCSI IDs (via dip switches) for the disks in the HP Storage System/6 Verifying SS6 Internal Cabling Before connecting the disks housed in the HP Storage System/6, you need to setup the Storage System/6's internal cables to support the cluster. To gain access to internal cables and dip switches, you must open the storage system's side door. To remove the door from the HP Storage System/6: 1. Unlock the bezel from the chassis. 2. Pull the top of the bezel forward, swinging it down to clear the retaining clips at the bottom of the chassis. Lift the bezel away from the chassis, as shown in the following illustration. In this section, you prepare the HP Storage System/6 for cluster operations by:
Configuring the internal cabling on the HP Storage System/6
Assigning SCSI IDs (via dip switches) for the disks in the HP Storage System/6
Verifying SS6 Internal Cabling
Before connecting the disks housed in the HP Storage System/6, you need to setup the Storage System/6’s internal
cables to support the cluster. To gain access to internal cables and dip switches, you must open the storage system’s
side door.
To remove the door from the HP Storage System/6:
1.
Unlock the bezel from the chassis.
2.
Pull the top of the bezel forward, swinging it down to clear the retaining clips at the bottom of the chassis.
Lift the bezel away from the chassis, as shown in the following illustration.
