2 Installing HP Remote Console The HP NetServer's built-in Remote Console feature can be used to provide troubleshooting and diagnostic services. Remote Console allows you (or a VAR or system administrator) to manage, monitor and configure a server without traveling to the NetServer site. Using Remote Console, you can access and initiate all the configuration and diagnostic features incorporated into the HP NetServer Utility Partition. The following illustration shows how HP's Remote Console works. Figure 3: HP Remote Console Setup You (or your customer) may need assistance setting up a NetServer for HP Remote Console, particularly if you are unfamiliar with DOS prompt computing. In such cases, HP recommends that you first establish phone contact with an assistant and walk them through the setup defined in "Setup at the HP NetServer" of the installation steps that follow.
