NOTICE: The three dots icon at the top-right corner provides direct access to printhead-related utilities (e.g. checks, recoveries, alignment, etc). Table 3-2 Front-panel message Front-panel message Description Ready The printhead is ready to print. Missing printhead No printhead detected. It may be installed, but the printer did not detect it. Wrongly inserted The printhead is placed wrong. Replace Severe error detected in the printhead. It could be a connection error. Try cleaning the printhead contacts (see Clean the printhead contacts on page 207 and System errors on page 384). Reseat printhead Connection error. Try cleaning the printhead contacts (see Clean the printhead contacts on page 207 and System errors on page 384). Printhead replacement incomplete. Restart it. The printhead replacement was canceled, and must be restarted. Expired agent The printhead has reached its expiration date. Using expired agents may affect the warranty on your printheads. Non-HP agent detected A refilled or non-HP agent cartridge has been detected in the printer. Incompatible printhead The printhead inserted is not the right HP printhead model. NOTICE: If the new printhead is rejected or you are asked to reseat it, try cleaning the printhead contacts and the contacts in the carriage pocket where this printhead was inserted (see Clean the printhead contacts on page 207 and System errors on page 384). NOTICE: To replace a printhead seeReplace a printhead on page 53. IMPORTANT: The small X icon appears at each printhead for the Reseat and Replace messages but also for the Printhead replacement incomplete message, especially after a reboot. Check the detailed message in the notification area or in each printhead's detailed information to ensure which printheads need to be reseated or replaced Storage conditions Printheads should be stored at between 5 and 30°C (41 and 86°F) If a printhead is exposed to temperatures above 30°C (86°F) for some time, it may be degraded. The higher the temperature, the faster the printhead degrades. Similarly, if a printhead is exposed to temperatures below 5°C (41°F), it can also become degraded. The lower the temperature, the higher the risk. Having the printheads go through freeze-melt cycles may impact the agent's performance. 52 Chapter 3 Supplies
