Shut down the computer. If you are unsure whether the computer is off or in Hibernation, turn the computer on, and then shut it down through the operating system. 2. Disconnect all external devices connected to the computer. 3. Disconnect the power from the computer by first unplugging the power cord from the AC outlet and then unplugging the AC adapter from the computer. 4. Remove the battery (see Battery on page 44). Remove the service door: 1. Slide the battery/service door latch (1) to release the service door. 2. Slide the service door toward the front of the computer (2) and then remove the door (3). NOTE: It is normal for the service door to flex slightly when it is released. You may also hear some popping noises as the service door tabs disengage from the base enclosure slots. Before removing the service door, follow these steps:

Slide the service door toward the front of the computer
