Chapter 3 Installation Installing the NetServer The NetServer now must be mounted to the slides, the cable management arm can be installed, the recessed mounting brackets must be installed, the control panel must be relocated, and the Compaq rack-compatible bezel must be installed. Mounting the NetServer to the Slides 1. Extend the slides until you hear a click, indicating they are fully extended in the locked-out position. Note that the slides do not come apart see Figure 3-3. WARNING To prevent the rack from tipping over, be sure that the stabilizing, anti-tip feature is installed on this rack enclosure see Figure 1-2. 2. Before you lift the NetServer, remove the power supply modules and the hot-swap hard disk drives to reduce the weight. WARNING The HP NetServer LH 3r weighs approximately 115 pounds (52 kg) after the hard disk drives and power supply modules are removed. The HP NetServer LH 4r weighs approximately 145 pounds (66 kg) after the hard disk drives and power supply modules are removed. The HP NetServer LH 3000r weighs approximately 118 pounds (54 kg) after the hard disk drives and power supply modules are removed. The HP NetServer LH 6000r weighs approximately 148 pounds (67 kg) after the hard disk drives and power supply modules are removed Do not attempt to lift the NetServer by yourself. Follow local regulations when lifting the NetServer. Failure to observe this warning could result in serious injury to personnel or damage to equipment. WARNING 12 Do not touch any metal object to the power supply connector contacts. High Electrical charges may be stored in the module even after it has been removed. Fire or bodily injury may result if terminals are short-circuited.

Installing the NetServer

Mounting the NetServer to the Slides

WARNING
