Display assembly NOTE: The display assembly is spared at the subcomponent level only. For display assembly spare part information, see the individual removal subsections. Before removing the display assembly, follow these steps: 1. Turn off the computer. If you are unsure whether the computer is off or in Hibernation, turn the computer on, and then shut it down through the operating system. 2. Disconnect the power from the computer by unplugging the power cord from the computer. 3. Disconnect all external devices from the computer. 4. Remove the keyboard/top cover (see Keyboard/top cover on page 22). 5. Disconnect the battery cable from the system board (see Battery on page 25). 6. Remove the WLAN module (see WLAN module on page 29). 7. Remove the system board (see System board on page 31). Remove the display assembly: 1. Open the computer to the interactive position, as shown in the following illustration. 2. Remove the seven Phillips PM2.5×4.4 screws (1) and the Phillips PM2.0×4.1 screw (2) that secure the display assembly to the base enclosure. 3. Display assembly

Before removing the display assembly, follow these steps:
1.
Turn off the computer. If you are unsure whether the computer is off or in Hibernation, turn
the computer on, and then shut it down through the operating system.
2.
Disconnect the power from the computer by unplugging the power cord from the computer.
3.
Disconnect all external devices from the computer.
4.
Remove the keyboard/top cover (see

5.
Disconnect the battery cable from the system board (see

6.

7.
Remove the system board (see

).
Remove the display assembly:
1.
Open the computer to the interactive position, as shown in the following illustration.
2.
Remove the seven Phillips PM2.5×4.4 screws

and the Phillips PM2.0×4.1 screw
(2)
that secure
the display assembly to the base enclosure.
3.
Slide the display assembly
(1)
forward until the display hinges
(2)
clear the base enclosure.
