USB board Description USB board (includes cable) Spare part number 603922-001 Before removing the USB board, follow these steps: 1. Shut down the computer. If you are unsure whether the computer is off or in Hibernation, turn the computer on, and then shut it down through the operating system. 2. Disconnect all external devices connected to the computer. 3. Disconnect the power from the computer by first unplugging the power cord from the AC outlet and then unplugging the AC adapter from the computer. 4. Remove the battery (see Battery on page 38), and then remove the following components: a. Memory module/wireless module compartment cover (see Memory module on page 39) b. Optical drive (see Optical drive on page 50). c. Top cover (see Top cover on page 51) Remove the USB board: 1. Release the ZIF connector to which the USB board ribbon cable is connected, and then disconnect the USB board ribbon cable (1) from the system board. 2. Disconnect the USB board cable (2) from the USB board. 3. Remove the Phillips PM2.0×4.0 screw (3) that secures the USB board to the base enclosure. 4. Remove the USB board (4). Before removing the USB board, follow these steps:
1.
Shut down the computer. If you are unsure whether the computer is off or in Hibernation, turn
the computer on, and then shut it down through the operating system.
2.
Disconnect all external devices connected to the computer.
3.
Disconnect the power from the computer by first unplugging the power cord from the AC outlet
and then unplugging the AC adapter from the computer.
4.
Remove the battery (see

), and then remove the following components:
a.
Memory module/wireless module compartment cover (see

)
b.
Optical drive (see

).
c.
Top cover (see
Top cover
on page

)
Remove the USB board:
1.
Release the ZIF connector to which the USB board ribbon cable is connected, and then
disconnect the USB board ribbon cable

from the system board.
2.
Disconnect the USB board cable
(2)
from the USB board.
3.
Remove the Phillips PM2.0×4.0 screw
(3)
that secures the USB board to the base enclosure.
4.
Remove the USB board
(4)

Reverse this procedure to install the USB board.
