Chapter 2: Taking pictures and recording video clips Taking still pictures You can take a picture almost any time the camera is on, regardless of what is being shown on the Image Display. 1 Frame the subject for your picture in the viewfinder. 2 Press the Shutter button all the way down to take the picture. The captured image appears for several seconds on the Image Display for instant review. During this time, the image is saved to memory, unless you choose to delete it by pressing the OK button. In Step 2 above, the Viewfinder light may start blinking. For an explanation of this, see the description for the Viewfinder light on page 10. NOTE The Memory/USB light will blink while the camera is saving pictures to internal memory or the memory card, and the camera may not respond to button presses during this time. Do not remove the memory card while this light is blinking, because it might corrupt the card. Chapter 2: Taking pictures and recording video clips 21
