H-14 Compaq ProLiant CL380 User Guide Dual Bus Expansion Configuration In a dual bus configuration, a StorageWorks Enclosure 4214 is used to connect to two ProLiant CL380s. An optional Dual Bus I/O Module is required, and is installed in the StorageWorks Enclosure 4214. The Dual Bus I/O Module splits the SCSI bus into two equal halves, each supporting seven disk drives. This configuration supports two ProLiant CL380s, with each of them connected to one side of the Dual Bus I/O Module (see Figure H-9). When configured with the Dual Bus I/O Module, the enclosure provides two separate channels that can be used by each of the ProLiant CL380 clusters. In this configuration, the external storage enclosure has two separate buses that can be accessed independently of one another. The drive bays on each bus are addressed as SCSI IDs 0-5 and 8. Each bus is connected via an external SCSI cable to the CR3500 Controller in the ProLiant CL380. Using this configuration, seven drives in the external enclosure are seen as an extension of the six drives in the internal shared storage for each ProLiant CL380 to provide support for 13 drives for each cluster.
