2-2 Compaq ProLiant CL380 User Guide ProLiant CL380 Warnings and Precautions WARNING: To reduce the risk of personal injury from hot surfaces, allow the hot-plug drives and the internal system components to cool before touching them. WARNING: To reduce the risk of electric shock or damage to the equipment: Do not disable the power cord grounding plug. The grounding plug is an important safety feature. Plug the power cord into a grounded (earthed) electrical outlet that is easily accessible at all times. Unplug the power cord from each power supply to disconnect power to the equipment. CAUTION: Compaq recommends that you protect your system from power fluctuations and temporary interruptions with a regulating uninterruptible power supply (UPS). This device protects the hardware from damage caused by power surges and voltage spikes and allows time for the system to operate after a power failure. A UPS is designed to allow a graceful system shutdown after a power interruption rather than an unexpected shutdown with files open. CAUTION: The system must always be operated with the access panels on. Proper cooling will not be achieved if the access panels are removed.
