Use the Security dialog box to lock your console switch with password protection, set or change the password, and enable the screen saver. If a password has been previously set, you must enter the password before you can access the Security dialog box. You do not have to set a screen saver password. To access the Security dialog box, click Main>Setup>Security. The Security dialog box appears. Setting and changing the console switch password 1. From the Security dialog box ("Setting local console switch security" on page 37), double-click the New field. 2. Enter the new password in the New field, and then press the Enter key. A valid password must be alphanumeric and be five to 15 characters in length. Permitted characters are case-sensitive and can consist of A-Z, 0-9, spaces, and hyphens. 3. In the Repeat field, re-enter the password and press the Enter key. 4. Click OK to change the password. Local port operation 38
