Possible switch reset after power failure or power-down sequence In extremely rare instances, after a power failure or power-down sequence, an Edge Switch or Director configuration may be reset to factory default settings. This is evident when HAFM is unable to communicate with the Edge Switch or Director after being powered on. This occurs because the IP address assigned to the Edge Switch or Director has been reset to the factory default (10.1.1.10). Workaround If this occurs, the Edge Switch or Director configuration and the IP address must be restored. Also, all licensed features must also be reactivated by reentering the license keys. Activating very large zone sets may fail when using OSMS and CT_AUTH If using third-party applications utilizing Open Systems Management Server with CT_Authentication enabled, trying to activate a very large zone set may be rejected. This will be fixed in a future release of firmware. Workaround None. Preferred Domain ID may not update automatically when configuring SANtegrity features When configuring SANtegrity, the Preferred Domain ID may not update automatically if Enterprise Fabric mode or Fabric Binding are enabled and the switch is online. Workaround Enable Insistent Domain ID before enabling Enterprise Fabric mode, or make the Preferred Domain ID the same as the active Domain ID. Open Source software included in firmware (EOS) 8.x The following Open Source software is included in firmware 8.x and later: • A) Secure Shell (SSH) 3.6.1p1-OpenSSH component provides a secure alternative to the telnet server for Command Line Access (CLI) interface. • BSD-like license is located at the following web site: http://www.openssh.org. • Secure Shell (SSH) is fully embedded into EOS 8.x. • B) Secure Socket Layer (OpenSSL)-OpenSSL is used for secure connections between switches. • BSD-like license is located at the following web site: http://www.openssl.org.
