When the Tape Blade does not power up If the Tape Blade does not start, use the following table to help resolve the problem: Table 6 Troubleshooting Tape Blade operation Possible reasons Possible solutions • The Tape Blade is not installed in the correct location for the partner server blade. Verify that the Tape Blade is installed adjacent to the partner server blade. See "Installing an HP StorageWorks Tape Blade" on page 21. • The partner server blade was not restar- Restart the server blade and verify that the Tape Blade front panel ted after the Tape Blade was installed. system health LED changes from flashing red to solid green. • The Tape Blade is not properly seated in the device bay. 1. Power down the partner server blade. 2. Reseat the Tape Blade in the device bay. 3. Restart the server blade and verify that the Tape Blade front panel system health LED changes from flashing red to solid green. • No mezzanine pass-thru card installed Purchase and install the required card, option kit part number: with a full-height server 431643-B21. • The c-Class enclosure firmware is at the wrong version Firmware version 1.3 or later is required when installing in a c7000 enclosure. In a c3000 enclosure all versions of the firmware support the HP StorageWorks Tape Blade. For the best reliability, performance and new features update to the most recent version of the firmware. • There is insufficient power or cooling Use the Onboard Administrator to verify that sufficient power and cooling are available.
