Configure network settings At this point the appliance is ready to be accessed over a network using the StoreOnce CLI or GUI. After conversion the appliance 1GbE network will be enabled on Port 1 and it will be configured in DHCP mode. If the network to which Port 1 of the appliance is attached supports DHCP and you plan to continue to use DHCP on this interface, you can discover the DHCP IP address using the command: nl net show status all Alternatively, you can reconfigure the network connections and add additional network configurations using the command net set wizard to run the Network Configuration wizard. See the HP StoreOnce Backup system Installation and Configuration guide for more details on network configuration. After configuring the network you can access the StoreOnce CLI via ssh either from a Linux system or from a Windows ssh client, such as PuTTy, using any of the configured IP addresses for the appliance. Network settings can be reconfigured remotely, if required, via the command line interface. To do this: Apply licenses for capacity expansion Licenses for capacity expansion that were purchased for use on your existing appliance are also valid after the conversion to 3.4.x (or later) software. Before configuring your appliance storage it is important to apply any capacity expansion license keys. The storage configuration process will not complete unless licenses are provided for all attached storage. To do so either: • Upload the license files or • Type in the license key strings To upload a license file: 1. Use an SFTP appliance for Windows or Linux to upload a license file to the "repository" directory on the appliance. 2. Log in using the Username = Admin ; Password = admin. 3. Run the command: license load 4. Check that the license has been applied with the command: license show To type in a license string: 1. Use the command: license add 2. Check that the license has been applied with the command: license show NOTE: It is not possible to add Replication or Catalyst licenses at this point because there is no storage configured. Configure appliance storage Once previously created storage LUNs have been deleted the process of creating new Logical storage for the appliance that is now running 3.4.x (or later) software is accomplished via theStoreOnce CLI by running a number of StoreOnce CLI commands. Configure network settings
At this point the appliance is ready to be accessed over a network using the StoreOnce CLI or
GUI.
After conversion the appliance 1GbE network will be enabled on Port 1 and it will be configured
in DHCP mode. If the network to which Port 1 of the appliance is attached supports DHCP and
you plan to continue to use DHCP on this interface, you can discover the DHCP IP address using
the command:
nl
net show status all
Alternatively, you can reconfigure the network connections and add additional network
configurations using the command
net set wizard
to run the Network Configuration wizard.
See the
HP StoreOnce Backup system Installation and Configuration guide
for more details on
network configuration.
After configuring the network you can access the StoreOnce CLI via
ssh
either from a Linux system
or from a Windows ssh client, such as PuTTy, using any of the configured IP addresses for the
appliance.
Network settings can be reconfigured remotely, if required, via the command line interface. To do
this:
Apply licenses for capacity expansion
Licenses for capacity expansion that were purchased for use on your existing appliance are also
valid after the conversion to 3.4.x (or later) software.
Before configuring your appliance storage it is important to apply any capacity expansion license
keys. The storage configuration process will not complete unless licenses are provided for all
attached storage. To do so either:
Upload the license files or
Type in the license key strings
To upload a license file:
1.
Use an SFTP appliance for Windows or Linux to upload a license file to the “repository”
directory on the appliance.
2.
Log in using the Username = Admin ; Password = admin.
3.
Run the command:
license load <license filename>
4.
Check that the license has been applied with the command:
license show
To type in a license string:
1.
Use the command:
license add <license string>
2.
Check that the license has been applied with the command:
license show
NOTE:
It is not possible to add Replication or Catalyst licenses at this point because there is no
storage configured.
Configure appliance storage
Once previously created storage LUNs have been deleted the process of creating new Logical
storage for the appliance that is now running 3.4.x (or later) software is accomplished via
