2 PC HARDWARE STRUCTURE After reading this chapter, you will be familiar with the PC's package and hardware assembly. PACKAGING The HP Vectra VE 5/xx series 2 PCs have the same mid-profile desktop package as the HP Vectra VL 5/xx series 4 desktop PCs. CAUTION: Unplug the power cord before removing the PC's cover. Ensure that all connectors are unplugged before removing the system board from the PC. External Features The main external features of the HP Vectra VE 5/xx series 2 PC are: • connectors for I/O devices on the rear panel • three front-access shelves for 3.5-inch or 5.25-inch devices • control panel and name plate.
