11.0 General 11.1 Reset response ATA has the following three types of resets: Power On Reset (POR) Hard Reset (Hardware Reset) Soft Reset (Software Reset) The device executes a series of electrical circuitry diagnostics, spins up the head disk assembly, tests speed and other mechanical parametric, and sets default values. The RESET- signal is negated in the ATA Bus. The device resets the interface circuitry and sets the default values. The SRST bit in the Device Control Register is set and then is reset. The device resets the interface circuitry according to the Set Features requirement. The actions of each reset are shown in the table below. The Set Features command with Feature register = CCh enables the drive to revert these parameters to the power on defaults. In the case of sleep mode, the drive goes to standby mode. In other cases, the device does not change current mode. After reset the Standby timer value is set to 109 minutes. Set according to the initial power mode selection.
