Setup Set The IR Out This feature allows the customer to hide and operate external home theater components (VCR, DVD player or cable box) by using their original remote control through the Hitachi Plasma TV set with the provided IR Out cable. Also called IR Passthru, this feature will let your TV receive the (IR) infrarred control codes and transmit them to your hidden equipment. Setup Set The IR Out Remote controls operate on different frequencies, try mode1 or mode2 and use the best mode. IR Out ◄ Mode1 ► Move SEL Return 1. Use the CURSOR PAD ▲ or ▼ to highlight IR Out function. 2. Use the CURSOR PAD ◄ or ► to select Mode1 or Mode2 option. • Select Mode 1 to operate 38KHz frequency remote control signals thru the IR Out Terminal. The reach of the original remote control to the TV IR Receiver is 10m (max). • Select Mode 2 to operate 56KHz frequency remote control signals thru the IR Out Terminal. The reach of the original remote control to the TV IR Receiver is 10m (max). 3. Press EXIT to quit menu or select SET THE IR OUT to return to previous menu. The IR Out options (Mode 1, Mode 2) are related to the distance between the original remote control of the external equipment and the TV IR receiver in a straight line. The operation distance for Normal Length and Extended Length options will be reduced if the angle of the remote control position is changed. NOTE For IR Out cable connection please refer to page 15 or check the included Easy Graphic Guide. Set The Power Indicator This feature allows you to adjust the brightness intensity of the LED indicating light in the Front of your Hitachi Plasma TV. Select MAX or LOW for maximum brightness or lowest brigthness. Select OFF to turn off the indicating light. Setup Set The Power Indicator Power Light Indicator Brightness ◄ Max ► Move SEL Return Set HDMI-CEC Options Set to ON this feature will enable HDMI-CEC signal bus to allow your Hitachi Plasma TV to discover and communicate automatically with other compatible HDMI-interfaced Audio/Video equipment. CEC signal bus makes possible global controls based on "plug & play" automation to minimize the number of IR remotes and keypresses required for basic operation of your AV system. Select OFF to disable this option. Setup Set HDMI-CEC Options HDMI CEC On Off Move SEL Return 48 With "HDMI-CEC" feature, you can interface the connected equipment through the HDMI terminal automatically if the connected equipment meets an industry standard "HDMI CEC (Consumer Electronics Control)". Please check if the connected equipment supports HDMI CEC before using this feature. For example, here are two common functions operating when HDMI CEC is set to ON. Auto Input change and Auto Play System Standby Condition : While the Plasma TV is in Standby mode. When the connected equipment starts (such as DVD playback and Disc insertion), the Plasma TV is automatically turned On and switches the picture and audio to HDMI input. Condition : While the Plasma TV is On. When the Plasma TV is switched off or set to Standby mode, the connected equipment is also turned off or in Standby mode. Reset The Software This feature shows software information and easy upgrade procedure. This function allows the TV software to be upgraded by using a flash card (MMC/SD CARD). If a future software upgrade is required for your TV, HITACHI will notify and provide you with a flash card. In order to receive written notification and the flash card, please complete and return the warranty card. Insert MMC/SD CARD. 2. Press the CURSOR PAD ▲ or ▼ to highlight UPGRADE NOW. 3. Press the SELECT button to select and start upgrading. 4. Unplug the AC power cord or press the POWER SWITCH when the UPGRADE is complete. NOTE Any power interruption during the upgrade process will cancel the upgrade. When this happens, repeat the upgrade procedure. Switch between Home and Retail Mode This function allows you to return to the Energy Savings Initial Setting screen (see page 13). 1. Use CURSOR PAD ▲,▼ to highlight functions. 2. Use CURSOR PAD ◄, ► to select Home or Retail mode. 3. Press the SELECT button. NOTE RETAIL Mode is intended for showroom or shop use only, if you make any video or audio adjustment changes in this mode they will not be saved when the TV is turned Off .

Set The IR Out
This feature allows the customer to hide and operate external home
theater components (VCR, DVD player or cable box) by using their
original remote control through the Hitachi Plasma TV set with the
provided IR Out cable. Also called IR Passthru, this feature will let

Set HDMI-CEC Options
Set to ON this feature will enable HDMI-CEC signal bus to allow
