SAFETY Safety System The machine is equipped with a safety system that prevents starting or driving under the following conditions. The engine can only be started when: • The mower blades are disengaged. • The motion control levers are in neutral. After the machine is started, the engine will continue to run for five minutes if the operator leaves the seat after putting the motion control levers in neutral. The blades will be disengaged by the safety system. This allows the operator to leave the machine momentarily to remove obstacles from the mowing path. The motion control fault light will blink if the motion control levers are not in the neutral (outer) position. NOTE: The motion control light may also blink if mowing is done on uneven terrain and where there is varied operator pressure on the seat. The switch is also programmed to blink the motion control light (wilth blinks of a shorter duration) to warn the operator if the switch is faulty or has become disconnected. The blade switch light will blink until the blade switch is disengaged. See Ignition System Faults in the Operation section. When the operator returns to the seat, the blade switch will need to be reset (pushed down, pulled up ) to reengage the blades. 10
