Chapter 5. Configuring InterChange Server Express InterChange Server Express must be configured with environment-specific information for it to run. The necessary configuration for a typical implementation is done for you, using default values, when you run the Installer, as described in the WebSphere Business Integration Server Express Installation Guide. However, if you need to make a modification in the configuration of InterChanger Server Express for your specific implementation, you can do so, using System Manager. Configuration information for InterChanger Server Express is stored in XML format in a file named InterchangeSystem.cfg, which is stored in the product directory. You should not modify this file directly. Instead, if you need to make modifications to the configuration of InterChange Server Express, use System Manager. This chapter provides instructions for that. Using System Manager to configure InterChange Server Express To use System Manager for configuration of InterChange Server Express, an instance of InterChange Server Express must be running and System Manager must be connected to it. Do the following to open the InterChange Server Express configuration editor in System Manager: 1. Start System Manager as described in "Starting System Manager" on page 40. 2. Connect System Manager to the InterChange Server Express instance as described in "Connecting to InterChange Server Express" on page 44. 3. Right-click the InterChange Server Express instance and choose Edit Configuration from the context menu. 4. Make the desired changes in the configuration tabs as described in the following sections: v "Viewing general properties using System Manager" v "Configuring database properties using System Manager" on page 104 v "Configuring tracing levels using System Manager" on page 105 v "Configuring logging and tracing properties using System Manager" on page 105 v "Configuring e-mail notification properties using System Manager" on page 106 v "Configuring miscellaneous properties using System Manager" on page 106 v "Configuring environment variables using System Manager" on page 107 v "Configuring WebSphere MQ properties using System Manager" on page 107 5. When you are done use the keyboard shortcut Ctrl+S to save the file. Viewing general properties using System Manager The "General" tab of the System Manager configuration file editor has the following read-only fields: v The Server name field, which identifies the name of the InterChange Server Express instance. © Copyright IBM Corp. 2001, 2004 103

need
to
make
modifications
to
the
configuration
of
InterChange
