5 BATTERY CASE ■ Optional battery case (BP-263) 1 When using the optional battery case, install 6 × AA (LR6) size 2 alkaline batteries, as illustrated below. 3 q Remove the battery case if it is attached. (pp. 3, 4) 4 w Install 6 × AA (LR6) size alkaline batteries, as shown below. • Install only alkaline batteries. 5 • Be sure to observe the correct polarity. 6 7 Be careful! The negative 8 terminals of the battery case protrude from the body, so 9 pay attention not to injure 10 your fingers when inserting the batteries. 11 e Attach the battery case. (pp. 3, 4) 12 CAUTION: 13 • When installing batteries, make sure they are all the same 14 brand, type and capacity. Also, do not mix new and old batter- ies together. 15 • Keep the battery terminals clean. It's a good idea to occasionally clean them. 16 • Never incinerate used battery cells since internal battery gas 17 may cause them to rupture. • Never expose a detached battery case to water. If the battery 18 case gets wet, be sure to wipe it dry before using it. 19 • Never use batteries whose insulated cover is damaged. NOTE: When the optional battery case is attached, the battery 20 type must be selected as "Battery case operation" when turning the transceiver ON. Ask your dealer for details. (p. 12) 34

CAUTION:
