11 TROUBLESHOOTING PROBLEM The transceiver does not turn ON. Little or no sound comes from the speaker. You cannot transmit with high power. Scan does not start. No beep sounds. Individual or Group ID cannot be set. "??" blinks instead of the position and time. "NO POSITION" and "NO TIME" are displayed instead of the position and time. POSSIBLE CAUSE • Bad connection to the power supply. • The fuse is blown. • Squelch level is set too high. • Volume level is set too low. • S ome channels are set for low power or receive only by regulations. • The output power is set to low. • More than 2 favorite channels are not set. • The Key Beep function is OFF. • T he entered ID code is incorrect. First digit must be set to between ʻ1ʼ and ʻ9ʼ for an Individual ID. First digit must be set to ʻ0ʼ for a Group ID. • 2 3.5 hours have passed since you manually entered the position. • The GPS position is invalid. • The GPS signal is not correctly received. • T he position and time have not been manually entered.
