5. SYMPTOM: THE WALKING BELT IS OFF-CENTER WHEN WALKED ON a. If the walking belt has shifted to the left, first remove the key and UNPLUG THE POWER CORD..Using the alien wrench, turn the left rear roller adjustment bolt clockwise 1/4 of a turn. Plug in the power cord, insert the key and run the treadmill for a few minutes. Repeat until the walking belt is centered. b. If the walking belt has shifted to the right, first remove the key and UNPLUG THE POWER CORD. Using the alien wrench, turn the left rear roller adjustment bolt counterclockwise 1/4 of a turn. Plug in the power cord, insert the key and run the treadmill for a few minutes. Repeat until the walking belt is centered. 6. SYMPTOM: THE CABINET DOORS ARE NOT PROPERLY ALIGNED a. Each of the four cabinet doors is attached with two adjustable Hinge Plates (159). If the doors are not properly aligned, adjust them by turning the screws in the Hinge Plates. To raise or lower a door slightly, loosen screw A in the Hinge Plates; to adjust a door forward or back, loosen screw B; to adjust a door from side to side, turn screw C. 159 Ee-ryD 7. SYMPTOM: TV RECEPTION IS POOR a. Antenna-For the console and television to operate properly, good reception is necessary. If you are using an antenna, make sure that it is properly connected and that it is adjusted for optimal reception. (See ANTENNA CONNECTIONS on page 18.) In addition, refer to the information below. b. Ignition-Black spots or horizontal streaks appear or the picture may flutter or drift. Usually this is caused by interference from automobile ignition systems, neon lamps, electric drifts, or other electric appliances. Changing the position of the treadmill or other electric appliances may correct the problem. c. Ghosts-Ghosts are caused by the television signal following two paths-one is the direct path and the other is reflected from tall buildings, hills, or other objects. Changing the direction or position of the antenna may improve reception. d. Snow-If the TV is located in the fringe area of a television station where the signal is weak, the picture may be marred by the appearance of small dots. When the signal is weak, it may be necessary to install an external antenna to improve the picture. e. Radio Frequency interference-This interference produces moving ripples or diagonal streaks and in some cases causes loss of contrast in the picture. f. Picture Size Variation-A slight picture size variation is normal when you adjust the CONTRAST or BRIGHTNESS control. Note: If one of these symptoms appears when the cable from a CATV company is connected, the symptom may 26 be caused by the local company broadcast.
