Setup items by operation 1 1.43 Using IEEE802.1X authentication If you use this machine in a wired LAN environment having the IEEE802.1x authentication system, you must configure the authentication client function of this machine. Using IEEE802.1x authentication can restrict any device not permitted by the administrator to connect to this LAN environment. Configure settings to fit your environment. Use the following flowchart to configure settings. TCP/IP Settings Installation of the client certificate Installation of CA Certificate IEEE802.1x Authentication Setting Action for Invalid Certificate IEEE802.1X Authentication Trial 1.43.1 1.43.2 Finish TCP/IP Settings Configure settings to use this machine in the TCP/IP network environment. For details, refer to "Specifying general settings for TCP/IP-based communication" on page 1-2. Installation of the client certificate Install the client certificate of this machine according to the EAP authentication method to be used. - When EAP-Type is [EAP-TLS], the installation of the client certificate is indispensable. - When EAP-Type is [EAP-TTLS] or [PEAP], the client certificate is required to be installed depending on how the machine is used.
