Setup items by operation 1 1.15 Sending an Internet fax Specify settings for sending an Internet fax. In order to use the Internet fax function, this machine is required to be equipped optionally with a hard disk and an image controller. And when using the Internet fax function, settings by a service engineer are required. For details, contact your service representative. The Internet fax function sends and receives scanned originals as an attached file (TIFF format) via the intranet or Internet. This via-intranet or -Internet communication largely reduces the communication cost as compared with general fax messages. Communication by combining POP before SMTP, APOP, SMTP authentication or encryption using SSL/TLS is available. For details, refer to "Sending scan data by E-mail" on page 1-25.
