Troubleshooting 4 4 4.1 Troubleshooting Fax cannot be sent If the fax cannot be sent, refer to the following table, and then perform the indicated operations. If the fax still cannot be sent correctly, even after performing the described operations, contact your technical representative. ! Detail If the fax cannot be sent, TX Result Report is output. For details, refer to "TX Result Report" on page 11-8. (When TX Result Report printing is set) For error messages refer to "Error Messages" on page 4-4. For details on the troubleshooting procedures for original misfeed, paper misfeed, poor print quality, or empty toner, refer to the User's Guide [Copy Operations]. Checkpoints Was the transmission procedure performed correctly? Is the recepient's Fax number correct? Was the Address Book or Program destination registered correctly? Are the telephone line settings correct? Is the telephone line connected correctly? Is there any trouble in the recipient's fax machine? Has the password been entered incorrectly with a password transmission? With an address confirmation transmission, is the fax number incorrectly registered on the recipient's machine? Remedy Check the transmission procedure, and then try sending the fax again. There may be a mistake in the registering the Fax number when using the Address Book or Program destination. Print the Address Book list and check that the numbers are registered correctly. Correct if an error is found. Is the [Dialing Method] set in the Utility mode suitable for the line used? Check the settings and correct if there is an error. Is the telephone line disconnected? Check the telephone line connection and connect it if it is disconnected. Is there any trouble such as recipient's fax machine is turned off or there is no paper? Check by calling up the recipient. Check the password at the receiving end, and then try sending the fax again with the correct password. Check that the fax number is correctly registered on the recipient's machine. Otherwise, try sending the fax again with "Check Dest. & Send" set to "No". C650 4-2
