Page 95 highlights

Configuring an ISA Legacy Adapter To configure an installed ISA legacy adapter, you might need to alter switch or jumper settings on the adapter. Also, you must use the Configuration/Setup Utility Program program to identify the ISA legacy resource requirements, such as memory locations, I/O assignments, and DMA and interrupt assignments. Note: For more information about required resources and switch settings, refer to the documentation that comes with the adapter. If you remove an ISA legacy adapter, you must set the system resources that are no longer being used to Available. To do this, follow the procedures in Chapter 5, "Using the Configuration/Setup Utility Program" on page 27 and select Available at step 4. Note: For more information on adapters and resolving conflicts, see "Adapter Configuration" on page 67 and "Interrupt and DMA Resources" on page 38. For more detailed instructions on configuring ISA legacy adapters, see "ISA Legacy Resources" on page 37. Configuring Startup Devices When your computer is turned on, it looks for an operating system. The order in which it searches devices for the operating system is the startup sequence. After adding new devices to the computer, you might want to change the startup sequence. You can use the Configuration/Setup Utility Program program to configure startup devices.
