5024-001 The serial number will be XXXXXXXX (8 digit string) Where X=A to Z, or 0 to 9. If you replace the main engine (MCTL P.W.B.) Board, the serial number needs to be identified from the serial number label on the printer. Setting Configuration ID The configuration ID is used to communicate information about certain areas of the printer that cannot be determined using hardware sensors. The configuration ID is originally set at the factory when the printer is manufactured, however it requires resetting whenever you replace the controller board and can be set on the operator panel. However, the configuration ID is the only diagnostic function displayed until a valid ID is entered. CONFIG IDs to be used for the 5024-001 printer: • 000000 ID set when the operator panel is to support 850 + Katakana and not allow the power saver to be reset. • 100001 ID set when the operator panel is to support 850 + Katakana and allow the power saver to be reset. • 000088 ID set when the operator panel is to support 850 + NLS and not allow the power saver to be reset. • 100089 ID set when the operator panel is to support 850 + NLS and allow the power saver to be reset. To set the configuration ID: 1. Enter diagnostics mode, see "Diagnostic Mode" on page 3-5. 2. Select Configuration ID from the printer setup menu. The current ID displays on the screen. The display should show one of the IDs from the above list. The leftmost digit blinks indicating that it is the first digit to be changed. 3. Press either Menu> or
