H9660UD_1.qx4 04.4.14 4:47 PM Page 42 42 Time Search, Index Search Time Search Follow the steps below to search forward or backward on a tape a specific length of time.There must be a tape in the cassette compartment. 1 Press VCR, then press SEARCH MODE until the TIME SEARCH screen appears. TIME SEARCH - :- - 2 Within 30 seconds, press o or p until your desired length of time appears. Or, press and hold o or p until you reach the desired length of time. You can set a Time Search for up to 9 hours and 59 minutes (9:59). 3 Within 30 seconds, press s (for a reverse search) or B (for a forward search). The tape begins rewinding or forwarding.When it rewinds or forwards the time you specified, play will begin.The time will count down beneath TIME SEARCH during the search. If the end of the tape is reached during the search, the search will stop and the tape may rewind. Details are on page 44. Index Search An Index Mark is made automatically at the beginning of each recording. Essentially, an Index Mark is a "bookmark." Find the start of a recording by following these steps. 1 Press VCR, then press SEARCH MODE until the INDEX SEARCH screen appears. INDEX SEARCH _ _ 2 Within 30 seconds, press o or p until the number of programs you want to skip appears beneath INDEX SEARCH. Include the current program in your number. 3 Within 30 seconds, press s (for a reverse search) or B (for a forward search). When the tape finishes rewinding or forwarding, play will start.The program numbers will count down beneath INDEX SEARCH during the search. Time Search
Follow the steps below to search forward or backward on a

not available during recording.
To remove a Search display, press
C-RESET/CLEAR.
To cancel a search, press STOP
