The application allows two choices: 1) back up files or 2) restore files that have been backed up. Backing up allows the selective backup of particular types of files and advanced settings. 4. Backing up Photos, Video, Music. a. Click on the "Photos, Video, Music" tab to back up these types of files. Figure 25. b. The next screen allows you to choose which of the photo, video, or music files you can back up (Figure 26). Click "Next>" to continue. 1. Setting the cursor over the one of the three types will briefly display the types of files included in each of the three categories. 2. Removing the check mark in any of the three boxes will eliminate that category from being backed up. 3. You can choose either to make a full back up of all the selected files or an incremental backup of only new files added since the last back up. Figure 26. c. A full back up screen displays the number of files in each selected category and the size of the data in each category (Figure 27). Several other options appear on this screen: 1. The back up destination-click on "Browse..." to designate the Memorex Ultra TravelDrive letter or any other storage medium for the back up. 2. The back up name appears as today's date by default. The name can be changed as long as it is fewer than 15 characters. 3. Comments can be added to the back up to describe it. These comments will show up in the Restore process (described below) to help identify a particular backup. 4. The space requirement for the full back up appears. Clicking on the "View Backup File list..." tab will display a list of all the files to be included in the back up. Clicking on the "Rescan" tab makes the software scan all the selected files once again. Page | 15
