ENGLISH 1. INTRODUCTION Memorex designed the Ultra TravelDrive Portable Hard Drive to make backing up critical files from priceless digital photos to important documents as quick, safe, and easy as possible. It works either as a simple portable USB hard drive or with its bundled TotalMedia Backup software as a complete system to help ensure that you never lose your critical data. 2. SAFETY & HANDLING GUIDELINES The design of the Ultra TravelDrive is meant for stationary use. It incorporates a high performance magnetic disk drive and requires precautions in use: • DO NOT STORE OR USE in areas exceeding 115° F. / 45° C. or below 40° F. / 4° C. If moving quickly from a cold to warm environment or from a warm to cold environment, allow the drive to adjust to the new temperature to avoid problems with condensation. • DO NOT USE AT ALTITUDES greater than 10,000 ft / 3,050 m or more than 200 ft / 60 m below sea level unless you are in a pressurized environment such as a commercial airplane. The drive head relies on normal air pressure to operate properly. • DO NOT REMOVE, BUMP, or JAR the drive while it is in operation. • DO NOT DISCONNECT the cables or power cords until the device has been properly disconnected from the computer through the computer's operating system. • KEEP AWAY from excessive moisture or exposure to liquids. If liquid is spilled into the drive, immediately unplug it from the computer and drain and/or thoroughly dry off the drive before attempting to reconnect to a computer. CAUTION: Reconnecting your drive after it has had liquid spilled into and/or onto it, may cause damage to your computer and/or connector ports if the drive was permanently damaged when it got wet and/or if it is not thoroughly dry before connecting. • MAKE SURE YOUR HANDS ARE DRY when plugging or unplugging the device into a computer. • DO NOT SUBJECT to excessive force or impact. • DO NOT BLOCK air flow around the drive or stack anything on top of it. Doing so may cause the drive to over heat, and too much weight may damage the drive. • KEEP AWAY from strong magnetic fields such as powerful electric motors. Excessive magnetic fields can erase data on the drive. • DO NOT dismantle the drive-there are no serviceable parts inside, and dismantling will void your warranty. • CLEAN the device only when it is unplugged from a computer. Use a damp, lint-free cloth and prevent moisture from getting into any openings. Do not use any sprays or solvents to clean the device. 3. PRODUCT DESCRIPTION The Memorex Ultra TravelDrive is a portable storage device that fits in the palm of your hand. It incorporates a 2.5-inch hard drive available in various capacities in an ergonomic and stylish design that can be personalized with interchangeable, nature-inspired color faceplates. Its plug-and-play USB (Universal Serial Bus) interface allows it to function as an external drive when connected to an available USB port. Your computer easily recognizes the Ultra TravelDrive once it is inserted into your USB connection, and an LED on the rear identifies the USB port as either the high-speed USB 2.0 or the slower 1.1 USB version. You can drag and drop files to or from the Ultra TravelDrive just as you would to a floppy disk or a hard drive with the added benefit of a faster, far more secure and portable data storage solution than most other previous alternatives. The included TotalMedia software makes backing up critical data as easy as pressing a button on the Ultra TravelDrive. Page |
