Cleaning and care To reduce the risk of electrical shock, disconnect the appliance from the power supply by shutting off the power main, tripping the circuit breaker or unplugging the power cord before maintenance. Never use cleaning agents containing abrasive substances such as sand, soda, acids, chlorides or chemical solvents. Non-abrasive cleaning agents are also unsuitable, as they can cause matte areas to appear. Only use a mild solution of warm water and liquid dish soap to clean this appliance. Do not use a steam cleaner to clean this appliance. Pressurized steam could penetrate electrical components and cause a short circuit. Do not allow water to get into the electronic unit or lights. To better maintain your appliance avoid the following: - cleaners containing soda, ammonia, thinners, or chlorides - cleaners containing descaling agents or lime removers, - abrasive cleaners, - stainless steel cleaners, - dishwasher soap (powder), - caustic (oven) cleaners, - scouring pads, steel wool, hard brushes, - glass cleaners, - metal scrapers, - eraser sponges, - steam cleaning products. Glass cleaners may be used to clean the exterior. However do not allow them to sit or "puddle", this can cause damage to the surface. Remove the cleaner promptly. The data plate located inside the appliance must not be removed. It contains information which is required in the event of a service call. 28
