Availability: All versions. A Private Line is a trunk reserved for a keyset for placing and answering calls. A user with a Private Line knows when important calls are for them. Private Line
Availability:

A Private Line is a trunk reserved for a keyset for placing and
answering calls. A user with a Private Line knows when impor-
tant calls are for them. Additionally, the user has their own trunk
for placing calls that is not available to others in the system.
There are three types of Private Lines:
Incoming Only
The keyset has a Private Line only for incoming calls. The user cannot place a call on the Pri-
vate Line. A customer service representative may want an incoming only Private Line to be
sure customers can always get through.
Outgoing Only
The keyset has a Private Line only for outgoing calls. The Private Line does not ring for
incoming calls. A service dispatcher may want an outgoing only Private Line so they can
always get in touch with field technicians.
Both Ways
The keyset has a Private Line for both incoming and outgoing calls. An executive may want a
both ways Private Line that is available only to them for placing and answering calls.
