When holding the camera vertically, make sure that the flash is on top as shown. Do not block the lens, autofocus window, or flash with your fingers or hair, or the strap. Be careful not to press down on the flash unit when it is in the poppedup position. Operating the shutter release button Before pressing Press halfway Press all the way down 1 Press the shutter release button halfway to focus. When you press the button halfway, focus and exposure are automatically achieved, and the green LED lights up. Pressing the shutter release button abruptly can result in picture blur.
