Movies Recording Movies To shoot movies with sound recorded via the built-in microphone, select shooting mode and follow the steps below. 1 Enter movie mode by pressing Movie D in shooting mode, selecting S (use the rotary multi selec- tor), and then pressing d. Exposure count display shows maximum total length of movie that can be recorded. 2 Press the shutter-release button y M fully to start recording. A progress bar at the bottom of the monitor shows the amount of recording time remaining. To end recording, press the shutter-release 29s button all the way down a second time. Recording will automatically stop if the internal memory or memory card becomes full. Movies j Recording Movies • The flash (c 32) can only be used for time-lapse and stop-motion movies. The self-timer (c 34) cannot be used, and exposure compensation (c 101) is not available. Macro mode (c 35), however, is available in all modes. • Digital zoom (up to 2×) can be applied while movies are being recorded. Adjust optical zoom before beginning recording. Once recording begins, optical zoom cannot be adjusted. l Changing Movie Settings 70 Movie options, auto-focus mode, or electronic VR can be changed (c 71).
