O Pet portrait • When you point the camera at a dog or cat, the camera detects the face of a dog or cat and focuses on it. By default, the shutter is automatically released when the face of a dog or cat is detected (pet portrait auto release). • On the screen displayed when O Pet portrait is selected, select U Single or V Continuous. - U Single: Whenever the face of a dog or cat is detected, the camera captures one image. - V Continuous: Whenever the face of a dog or cat is detected, the camera captures three images continuously. B Pet Portrait Auto Release and Self-portrait Timer The following settings can be set when you press the multi selector J (n). • Y Pet portrait auto release: The camera automatically releases the shutter when it detects the face of a dog or cat. - Pet portrait auto release is set to k after five bursts have been taken. - You can also release the shutter by pressing the shutter-release button. • r 5s Self-portrait timer: The shutter is released 5 seconds after you press the shutter- release button all the way down. Frame the picture after you press the shutter-release button all the way down. - See "Self-timer" (A52) for more information. - The camera focuses on the face of a dog, cat, or human when detected. - The camera cannot shoot images continuously. • k: The camera releases the shutter when the shutter-release button is pressed all the way down. - The camera focuses on the face of a dog, cat, or human when detected. B Focus Area • When the camera detects a face, the face is displayed inside a yellow border. When the camera acquires focus on a face displayed inside a double border (focus area), the double border changes to green.
