Shooting mode settings Taking close-up pictures () Use the macro mode when you want to shoot close to the subject, for example when taking a picture of a flower. With the macro mode, you can take pictures as close as 20 cm (7.8 in.) to the subject. To shoot even closer, set Super macro mode to ON. This lets you shoot as close as 9 cm (3.5 in.) to the subject. Press repeatedly in shooting mode and select & ON. 3 When the macro mode is selected, & is displayed on the monitor. &mark ON 2272 1704 20 Taking still pictures Take the picture using the monitor. You can take pictures of your subject at a distance of more than 50 cm (1.6 ft.) with the macro mode set to ON. However, the camera will take longer than usual to focus. If you use the flash in macro shooting, shadows may be noticeable and the appropriate exposure may not be obtained. You cannot use the macro mode together with the super macro mode.
