Adjusting the brightness (Exposure compensation) The standard brightness (appropriate exposure) set by the camera based on the shooting mode (except for G) can be adjusted brighter or darker to obtain the desired shot. 1 Press the F button. EXPOSURE COMP. 0.0 +0.3 +0.7 +1.0 Exposure compensation value 2 Use abcd to select the desired brightness image, and press the o button. Shooting close-ups (Macro shooting) This function enables the camera to focus and shoot subjects at close distances. 1 Press the & button. P OFF SET OK OFF % & OFF 2 Use cd to select the setting option, and press the o button to set. Item OFF MACRO SUPER MACRO*3 Description Macro mode is deactivated. This enables shooting as close as 20 cm/7.9 in.*1 (60 cm/23.6 in.*2) to the subject. This enables shooting as close as 8 cm/3.1 in. to the subject. *1 When the zoom is at the widest (W) position. *2 When the zoom is at the most telephoto (T) position. *3 The zoom is automatically fixed. The flash (p. 20) and zoom (p. 20) cannot be set during super macro shooting. Using the self-timer After the shutter button is pressed all the way down, the picture is taken after a time delay. 1 Press the Y button. P Y OFF SET OK ON SELFTIMER 10M NORM OFF 2 Use ab to select the setting option, and press the o button to set. Item OFF ON Description This cancels the self-timer. The self-timer lamp turns on for approx. 10 seconds, and then blinks for approx. 2 seconds, and then the picture is taken. Self-timer shooting is automatically canceled after one shot. To cancel the self-timer after it starts Press the Y button again. EN 21
