Useful Information Problem The unit does not work. I cannot hear a dial tone. The base unit beeps. The unit does not work during a power failure. Cause/solution R Make sure the batteries are installed correctly (page 8). R Fully charge the batteries (page 9). R Check the connections (page 8). R Unplug the base unit's AC adaptor to reset the unit. Reconnect the adaptor and try again. R The handset has not been registered to the base unit. Register the handset (page 36). R The base unit's AC adaptor or telephone line cord is not connected. Check the connections. R Disconnect the base unit from the telephone line and connect the line to a known working telephone. If the working telephone operates properly, contact our service personnel to have the unit repaired. If the working telephone does not operate properly, contact your phone service provider. R New messages have been recorded. Listen to the new messages (page 41). R You can insert 2 AAA (R03) batteries (not supplied) into the base unit that will power the unit temporarily in the event of a power failure (page 9). R The base unit display is blank if the saving mode is "On" (page 10). Menu list Problem The display is in a language I cannot read. I cannot register a handset to a base unit. Cause/solution R Change the display language (page 12). R The maximum number of handsets (6) is already registered to the base unit. Cancel unused handset registrations from the base unit (page 36). Battery recharge Problem The handset beeps and/or flashes. I fully charged the batteries, but - still flashes, - is displayed, or - the operating time seems to be shorter. Cause/solution R Battery charge is low. Fully charge the batteries (page 9). R Clean the battery ends ( , ) and the charge contacts with a dry cloth and charge again. R It is time to replace the batteries (page 8). Making/answering calls, intercom Problem is displayed. Cause/solution R The handset is too far from the base unit. Move closer. R The base unit's AC adaptor is not properly connected. Reconnect AC adaptor to the base unit. R The handset is not registered to the base unit. Register it (page 36).
