The heavier the material, the wider the stitch width must be selected for the zigzag stitch. Be sure the needle penetrates beyond the outer fabric edge during sewing. In this way the material edge is properly serged and well covered (Fig. 1). For heavy or easily fraying materials, use: • Program: 13, 21, or 22 (Fig, 3).
