Fold the fabric to the reverse side, secure the hem or facing with pins and, as Figs. 1 and 2 show, overcast the open edge. Honeycomb stitch The honeycomb stitch is especially suitable as a means of securing hems on stretchable lining materials. Fold a double hem and overcast with honeycomb stitch (Fig. 3). Topstitch on the fabric face side leaving a margin of 2 cm. Cut off excess material on the inside of the hem, along the seam (Fig. 4). 78
