OPERATION KNOW YOUR HEDGE TRIMMER The safe use of this product requires an understanding of the information in this instruction manual as well as a knowledge of the project you are attempting. Before use, familiarize yourself with all operating features and safety rules. Blade Support Rod Guard Auxiliary Handl e Rotating Handle Lock Button Lock-Out Button Trigger Switc h Battery Pac k Battery Pack Latch TO TURN ON/OFF 1. Place one hand on the trigger handle (2). Place the other hand on the auxiliary handle (4). 2. Press the lock-out button (3) and hold. 3. Squeeze the trigger switch (1). The hedge trimmer will turn ON. 4. Release the lock-out button (3). The hedge trimmer will stay on as long as the trigger switch (1) is squeezed ON. 5. Release the trigger switch (1) to stop. IMPORTANT: If the hedge trimmer is accidentally dropped, the hedge trimmer will turn OFF and the blade will coast to a stop after several seconds. The hedge trimmer will then be locked OFF again. USING THE ROTATING REAR HANDLE 1. Place the hedge trimmer on a flat and even surface. 2. Make sure that the trigger has been released and the unit is not running. 3. Press the rotating handle lock button and begin turning the rear handle. Release the lock button and turn the handle 90 degrees to either side until it clicks into place and the button pops out. 4. To turn the handle back to center, press the rotating handle lock button again, turn the handle slightly, release the lock button and continue turning the handle until it locks into place. 4 3 2 1 9
